We are the Clay that is Molded

Our past has shaped us in a myriad of ways; some we know about, and cling to … and others are so deeply buried in our subconscious that the only way to gain access to them is to first deal with the inner elements we know.  The most obvious instances are generally instances in our lives that have caused great sorrow … so DEEP was that sorrow that, even though we THINK we have moved on, we have allowed ourselves to be shaped by it … to affect both our Present and Future.

Yesterday I wrote about how we need to let go of the things that we cling to … that life is about letting go (in my post for meditation, “The Meaning of Life – Perspective“).  In a sense, this posting is about what is at the ROOT of that desire to cling to things.  You could almost say that each of us is a “hoarder” in our own unique way.  We have been shaped by our pasts, and so we find the individual items and instances that soothe those scars of the soul.

The problem with this, no matter how good they might make us feel in the moment, is that ALL of these coping mechanisms are simply feeding the power of those sorrowful events in our pasts.

An example:

I had my heart broken once … it wasn’t just my heart though, it went to a soulful level.  I had just discovered meditation and how we as humans can consciously work with our own energy; actually have control over the things that I had always felt I had NO control of.  This person whom I fell in love with convinced me beyond a shadow of a doubt that we would be together.  So I made the conscious decision to bond myself to that person on a meditative level.  Within a month everything was over, and I was left to discover that there had been somebody else the entire time … someone that this person had REALLY been in love with … and in a sense writing love letters to me that were really for that other person, whom I knew nothing about.  The rent in my soul that this event created literally affected me, in very tangible ways … to the point where I made MASSIVE life-changing decisions as a result of this sorrow.

Every relationship I would seek out … there would always be that part of me that would say, “I’m not going to THAT place again … the pain was more than I could ever bear again.”  There were other ways that it affected me as well.  The more that I continued these NEW habits, that were begun as a result of my broken heart … the more the strength of that old pain grew.

So yes, letting go of the tangible things in our lives is necessary … not that we need to just give them away, or that they are bad … just that we need to not allow them to have power over us.  However, that really is only the topical treatment to the larger issue … the things and events that we cling to internally.  The love that we we DON’T want to let go … or the pain that we DON’T want to experience again.

We must let these things go because they are blocks in our lives that prevent God from loving us, and working through us.

We are Clay … but we get to choose what it is that molds us … the pain, suffering, and tragedies of our lives … or the constant, beautiful Love that is what God has for you each and every day.  Every single past sorrow that we hold on to … shapes us … in ways that cause our vessel to be unable to maintain the fullness of Love that God wants for us.  When we allow GOD to shape us … THAT is when our “cup” literally runs over.

Religion4All is an idea: that every human being (no matter their race, religion, sexuality, social status, lifestyle, or any other possible factor) is LOVED by God; just … as … they are.

We all are loved by God, and NO religion or person has a monopoly on it. Every single person on this planet is loved equally by God … SO many are cut off from God because they are told they don’t belong. God loves everyone … we ALL are beautiful creations … we don’t need to cringe when we hear the words “God”, or “religion”, or their judgments … God LOVES us all!

There is no requirement to change in order to be LOVED by God, or to LOVE God. God is LOVE, and LOVE is God … period. There is no one who God loves more than anyone else … there are only those who choose to LOVE more … to love God more, and consequently then to love each other more. In doing so, we grow closer to God … and know God.

By opening our hearts, and minds to God (free of boundaries like religion, or social trends); by LOVING God … we are exactly where we are meant to be. If we maintain that openness, never allowing any person or event to make us close our hearts, we will be guided by God to be who we are meant to be.

In that space of openness we can then live a life of LOVE, and be guided to where we are meant to be … forever in LOVE.
